Let the good times roll

Summer has just begun and so has all of the fun!  There are so many exciting things happening throughout the city in the next few months and our calendar is already filled with all of the activities we want to do.  The best part of it is that most of the activities are free!
While Mike was at a conference in Scotland (with the camera, hence the lack of photos for this post!), we celebrated the first Saturday of summer by going to a free festival at Pt. Credit with friends.  The boys loved the rides and the food and bopped along to the live music.
Next week, Josh is looking forward to walking up to the CBC studio to meet some of his favourite characters from morning cartoons, including Super Why and Bo on the Go.
We also plan on spending lots of time at Ontario Place which is one thing we paid for.  We bought a pass for the summer and we know we will be getting our money's worth.  We already went there last Saturday and are planning on going tomorrow afternoon.  Thomas the Train will be doing a show so it is a can't miss event for the boys.  Barney is also doing a show this summer but I already told Josh that I refuse to go see him!  There is so much to do there that it will have to be a blog post in itself (with lots of pictures)!
Toronto has so much to offer in the summer and the best part of it is, our plans will rarely be rained out and  seldom will it be too cold for us to partake in the outdoor water activities!

Happy 4th Birthday fireman!

The long anticipated day finally arrived for Josh.  Turning 4 and having a firetruck birthday cake were two things he was looking forward to for a long time.

It's hard to believe that my baby is already 4 years old (sniff, sniff).  In many ways, he is so grown up and there's no question that he's old and 'wise' enough to be 4 but in other ways, he is still so cuddly and sweet that he will always be my baby.

It's been so much fun to watch Josh grow and mature into a little boy.  He's very responsible and very much a rule follower.  He is also sensitive, considerate and encouraging and is always going out of his way to cheer people up and make them feel good about themselves.

The other day, he told me he likes being 4 because now he can eat a lot of food.  The irony of this statement is that he has never been a big eater and in his first week of being 4, his appetite doesn't seem to have grown.  Nonetheless, he is taking his 'job' of being 4 very responsibly and is excited about all the new things that a 4 year old gets to do.
First on the list of things to do for a 4 year old... get his very own big boy bike!
Happy 4th birthday, Joshy!  We love you so much.
